 Latest News Karaoke competition 2005/6 (July 31, 2005) This year's competition will run at The Junction in Burgess Hill with the first heat on Sunday 31st July. The judging is done by a panel of judges not by applause. The format will be the same as last year i.e. one heat a month for six months and the final in January 2006. The dates are as follows :- Heat 1 - Sunday 31st July, Heat 2 - Sunday 28th August, Heat 3 - Sunday 25th September, Heat 4 - Sunday 30th October, Heat 5 - Sunday 27th November, Heat 6 - Sunday 18th December. Each evening will start at 8pm and the competition will start at about 9.30pm (dependant on amount of entries). No need for pre-entry - just come along on the night and register to sing. Two people will go through from each heat to the final in January where the prize fund is £500. (split for first, second and third to be confirmed) On Finals night the adult competition will start with warm up if required at about 7-7.30pm with the final starting at about 8.30pm. Each finalist will be required to sing one song for the judges who will then decide on the 6 finalists they want to hear again. Please be prepared to sing up to 3 different songs in the final dependant on judges requirements. If things are tight the final 3 will be asked to sing their 3rd song. If at any point a song is required which I do not have, please let me know and I will have it before the following heat or for the final whichever you want. On finals night we will also be holding a junior competition for kids up to 14 years. This will start at 5pm and they will be asked to sing one song for the judges. The competition details will be reported to the Mid Sussex Times and hopefully entered in the paper.
